Radlett 2010
Fortunately, I am able to combine my two passing loves, photography and my estate agency business all the time. One day I will establish who once said "a good photograph is worth a thousand words".
Recently I decided to upgrade the Barry Allsuch & Co web site. I engaged a brilliant 24 year old "geek" way ahead of his time, to come up with some fresh, but easy to use ideas to ensure my web site remained the best. Then I had a Barry Allsuch brainwave, let´s insert some theme photographs of the area I ply my trade in.
Armed with my Canon digital SLR and array of lenses and accessories, I set to work on my project and blessed with a sublime early June day, went on my travels.
Having worked and lived in the area in a period spanning four decades, I already had my essay in my head, but I decided to combine old and new to encapsulate how I see Radlett.
Fortunately, we are surrounded by mother nature and I think I excelled myself with shots of Aldenham Reservoir and a glorious rape field. Then there were the outdoor pursuits, golf and flying were top of my list, then came the pillar of the establishment the schools. Breaking some minor security rules I clambered over some fences and got a great shot of Radlett Prep School. Finally I simply could not ignore two graceful churches
The blue sky over Christ Church is highly evocative and St John´s Aldenham in a quiet backwater is a great subject with its original medieval architecture.
Oh I love Radlett, its stability and uniqueness and I am a modest part of its history.
