Friends and Family

My family are great dog lovers and when we were asked to look after Troy, a regal Great Dane, I became dog walker in chief, and it was not long before I brought out my camera.

Troy, the subject of my essay, is a true gentle giant, at 2 years old and weighing in at a modest 75kg, this fine breed is known as the Apollo of canines.

I took Troy for a stroll around the glorious Shenley countryside with my son Jonathan and took some fine shots, 8 of which I display.

I actually took over 80 shots and was reminded of the old adage that the hardest subjects to photograph and work with are animals and children.

In my time I have owned and walked Labradors, Setters, Alsatians, Dobermans and Yorkies, but I have no doubt in my mind Troy was the most regal and special.

Troy was simply magnificent with my grandchildren, but was a little wary or Rosie, my daughter´s miniature Shihtzu.
